The Total Effect of Regulation (TER) of the heart rhythm is determined by the mathematical expectation of the heart rate with the separation of states: marked tachycardia, moderate tachycardia, normocardia, moderate bradycardia, marked bradycardia. The following are used for TER research: bedside monitors, Holter monitors, portable wearable analysers, telemetry monitors. The specific formula for calculating TER may depend on the context and purpose of the study, so we developed a management tool to predict the reduction in the likelihood of developing rhythm disturbances. This index was calculated in students on the basis of the following factors: index of activity of regulatory systems, autonomic homeostasis, vasomotor (vascular) centre, automatism function and degree of centralisation of control. On the basis of the data obtained, we can conclude that the application of the model based on the total effect of regulation, taking into account the above-mentioned indicators, has a high degree of informative value and reliability. Based on the calculated indicators, a management mechanism for forecasting the level of TER has been developed. By ranking the degree of expression of the risk factors included in the model, it is possible to develop management mechanisms of the TER indicator. We obtain the dependency of changes in the level of TER from the unfavourable to the favourable level. The study of TER and its application in clinical practice can contribute to improving the quality of life of patients and reducing the risk of complications due to cardiac arrhythmias.
