Presentation Title:

Peritoneal adenocarcinoma patient with septic shock: A case report

Abstract

Peritoneal adenocarcinoma is a rare cancer that affects the serous lining of the abdominal cavity and its contents. The case of a 53 year old gentleman is detailed herein, who came in with weight loss, diarrhoea and poor appetite. Examination showed fullness in the lower abdomen with generalised abdominal tenderness. Patient underwent rigorous investigations and was started on artificial feed to sustain his nutrition. Patient got into septic shock due to COVID 19. As the features of peritoneal adenocarcinoma are similar to all the other cancers, laparotomy and biopsy results are key for diagnosis.
