Title: Haruan Extract is a Natural Product Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient

Abstract

Malaysia is a Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem blessed with bountiful native flora - fauna, naturalist species and one of those is an indigenous freshwater carnivorous air-breather snakehead-fish Channa striatus, locally known as Haruan; a good source of protein, restaurant-menu and a popular-game among anglers. More interestingly, the fish is undisputed traditional medicine, an oral remedy inducing quick recovery for ladies after child-delivery, including caesarian. The fish is either grilled or fried, incorporated in-soup or porridge as supplement for wound-healing, recovering various illnesses, bleeding, pain, inflammation, allergy, minor or major injuries including clinical procedures and road-accident. It is an ethno-pharmacology that had initiated, propelling a drug discovery R & D on the species since 1985; indicating holistic biochemical-wonders, unique with high-protein, low-fat and comprehensive dietary minerals, antioxidant and hypoglycemic providing basic requirement for physiology of wound-healing, reducing-pain, treating-inflammation and inhibit-growth of pathogenic bacteria. The protein comprises 17 essential amino acids together with Docosahexaenoic Acid and Arachidonic Acid in Haruan-extract termed as Haruan Manan (HM). The extract obtained through a proprietary SOP is a trade-secret, key-ingredient, bioactive and signature in every Haruan Biomedical Products (HBP). The introductory is a personal-care consisting shower-gel and lotion supplementing Haruan Cream (HC) which is safe for human and effective reducing-symptom of eczema after a randomized single blind Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical-trial involving 83 volunteers and 180 patients respectively. Furthermore, HC and Haruan Tablet (HT) containing HM had demonstrated potential reducing, treating symptoms in animals and human model; helping those suffering chronic-inflammation, external-internal pain, allergy, ulcers, diabetic-gangrene and cardiovascular complication: where scientific-studies demonstrating wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive and anti-bacterial as anti-ulcers, anti-cancer, anti-depressant, anti-arthritis and having potential delaying or preventing atherosclerosis in diabetes mellitus.
